What is the quality of the liner?
Not all
liners are the same. Many liners are made with
reground vinyl and are not of high quality. The
liners that come with our pools are made of 100%
virgin vinyl.
What is the thickness of the liner?
When the
information on a liner says 20 gauge, they are
referring to an average thickness of about 15-16 mil.
Our pools include liners that are 20 mil. All of our
pools feature a beaded liner. A beaded liner is the
best quality aboveground liner to have. The liner in
your pool is the item that receives the most stress,
skimping here will only cause problems later.
Who performs the installation of the pool?
Often pool
companies "hire out" or subcontract the actual
installation of a pool. This sometimes provides a
cheaper way to get the pool installed, but the
quality and accountability may suffer because of this
arrangement. If a problem occurs due to workmanship,
the warranty process sometimes gets confused in this
arrangement. We at Spaulding Pool & Spa install
all our pools ourselves and guarantee our work with a
one-year workmanship warranty.
What about Insurance Coverage?
Often many
"companies" will hire and pay many of their crews
"under the table" to keep their costs low. This
includes the area of insurance coverage of their
workers. We at Spaulding Pool & Spa are fully
covered for Workman's Compensation by the First
Cardinal Company and for General Liability by the CNA
Insurance company. This gives you peace of mind
knowing that the crew working on your premises is
fully insured. Our insurance agent's telephone
numbers can be provided by request.
What about after the sale support?
Many
companies have limited operations for their stores,
open for limited hours of the day or open only for a
few days of the week. This can make it very
inconvenient for obtaining information or obtaining
necessary supplies. It is very common for companies
to close down after the pool season has come to an
end. What happens when you have a concern about your
pool in the off season and cannot get your telephone
messages answered? We at Spaulding Pool & Spa are
open year round to be there if you should need us.
Our experienced staff participates in ongoing
training sessions to provide answers to your
questions. We are a locally owned company. This means
that when you need service in the years to come you
will not have to look to a company in a far off city
to try and arrange the work performed.
Should I have my pool installed or should I install it myself?
All of our
pool packages are priced in two ways- for we as a
company to install, or as a kit for the owners to
install themselves. Pool installation for the
homeowner can be fairly simple with the accompanying
manuals. When we as a company install the pool for
you we provide a one-year workmanship guarantee on
the installation procedures. This means we will come
back and remedy any situation due to installation
factors. We have been installing above and inground
pools for over 28 years- Our reputation is our
spokesman for quality work performed. In our pricing
we also include excavation of normal land conditions
and all materials necessary for installation (be
aware that some pool companies do not include these
materials in their installed pricing). We foam coves
along with a ground fabric to help insure a secure
foundation for your pool and liner. Ask us to tell
you why this makes the best type of installation
available. Either way you choose, the pool structure
and liner warranties are the same when installed
according to directions. If you decide to install the
pool yourself we provide an installation video for
you to use to make the project easier.
Is the pool manufacturer a reputable and established company?
The parent
companies of our steel, and aluminum pools are long
established companies in the pool industry. In recent
years there have been many pool manufacturers that
have gone bankrupt or gone out of business, leaving
previous purchasers of their pools in a difficult
position for obtaining warranty and parts
information. Because of our pool manufacturer’s
financial strengths and durability they will be
around tomorrow to back the pools they sell today. We
also use filters and pumps from manufacturers such as
Hayward Products and Pentair who have been market
leaders for decades. These manufacturers provide
parts and services for current models in add with
earlier models no longer sold. This means that in the
years to come you will not face the problem of trying
to find replacement parts for some obscure pump or
filter from a manufacturer that was only in business
for a few years.
What type of pool are you looking for?
We offer four
different lines of aboveground pools. In each line
there are round and oval shaped pools each with
different sizes available. Round pools are a little
less expensive because they do not require the
additional bracing that ovals do. The largest round
pool (30') will hold over 21,000 gallons of water,
while the largest oval pool (21x42) holds roughly
23,000 gallons. Depending on the size and shape of
the property where the pool will be installed the
shape may not be an important consideration. If you
have a long narrow lot, an oval pool may be the best
choice.
